It implies that objective reality exist and that politics is not all encompassing

Political qualifies correctness. But, politics and the mimetic rivalry it encourages will seek to subsume that objective reality. We fight over truth until we forget about truth and just fight, all the while becoming more and more alike. It's something like that.
