i understand culture is shifting fast, and it’s increasingly not okay to say things like “forcing people to undergo a medical treatment they don’t want is evil.” but forcing people to undergo a medical treatment they don’t want is still evil, fyi.
i understand arguments for acts of “necessary evil” in the face of existential threat, but is anyone going to make that case in a city like san francisco? there is no crisis here unless you count stupidity.

I believe in mandatory vaccination for government employees and for private companies to be able to set their own rules, but this does raise a hard sin of commission vs omission question. Like, I don’t know how to compare infectious disease policy to something like drunk driving.
So wait until there is a crisis, or avoid one?

Yeah, this is going in a bad direction. I wouldn't argue if it seemed necessary to end a crisis. But it doesn't stop transmission, and they're pushing for it where there's no crisis. There's no long-term data, and it's new tech. There are clear ethical questions being dismissed.
