The cost of doing business when it comes to building a road is skyrocketing. You now have to spend like $6 on arrayed pork in order for the welfare state's special interests to let you spend $1 on a road.

And that's not even counting how the roads themselves cost 10-100 times what they should. So the infrastructure bills for the money should be building like 600 times the amount of roadway they actually are. It's a level of inefficiency that could lead to a social collapse.
