I'm not a member so I cant speak to the overlap. The YIMBYS are soft spoken and the DSA is boorish, militant and extremely vocal. It might be the dictatorship of a small minority, even though most of the city would be YIMBY (they voted for Scott Weiner).

Fwiw I am a yimby neoliberal. Lots of us out there, but our yimby orgs should focus on housing, because some of us disagree on other things. I favor large scale deregulation of zoning laws, defunding freeways, and increased surveillance to combat urban crime.
