the synthesis take on this that I don't think people are ready for yet is that AR/VR devices are the skeleton key for having a portable rig that scales up to "mocap streamer-influencer" capabilities, versus everyone necessarily being in the same virtual world

To be fair first 2 generations of "metaverse" were extremely comical failures (hard to talk about goings on inside "second life" with a strait face). 3rd time might be actually *worth* writing about since it is the 1st time ever it might actually work out.
