hey so our leaders are fools but worth considering requisite actions if: - delta is not dangerous to vaxxed - vaxxed people are delta (R0=8) vectors - selective pressure to escape vax antibodies now proven this is a novel risk regime imo. i'm re-masking.

best steelman here to me is delta maximalism to get to herd before more dangerous (read: child affecting) variants pop out. our leaders are many leagues away from ever thinking this way. but it's a principled stance imo to spread delta like crazy vs local harm minimization.

I agree w/ your point but wouldn't hospitalizations (assuming the data is available, which afaik it is for every state) be better at capturing how much these 'new cases' matter at all? (i.e. if the point is, 'they don't', then it would be more-compelling to illustrate that imo)
