Haha - I'm the one they're referring to because I think that the drug war failed, that there's too many people in prison, etc. and that we need deep criminal justice reforms. The law & order people seem like small-minded populists who haven't read the history or research.
in fact, the discussion concerned the question of whether or not fentanyl dealers were effectively murderers. my small-minded populist opinion was that they were, and the conflation of fentanyl dealing with 'prison for shoplifting' was a ridiculous rhetorical sleight of hand.

@micsolana wants to see harsh punishments for the dealers in a decrim situation though, and I don't think that supply-side interventions (on dealers, etc.) are going to do much but lead to further drug war failures as history has shown. - Show replies
