“my body, my choice” “i agree. people should not be forced to get a covid vaccinatation.” “wait no not like that”

This is a trope that antivax activists use as a gotcha for why their kids shouldn’t have to have basic measles shots for school, too. The problem is when ‘choice’ impacts a whole room full of people who also get sick. This isn’t the first time states have debated mandates.

you’re never going to convince me you have the right to experiment with someone else’s body without their consent based on the fact that people in the out-group also find this position abhorrent

I’m not trying to convince you. They can refuse if they want to. School kids’ parents do, and then they homeschool or move to a state with requirements they like. But the rhetoric isn’t new or clever, it’s flimsy.

it’s not rhetoric, it’s an ethical position concerning a person’s right to self that many people, myself included, actually take seriously

What’s “experimental”? mRNA vaccines have undergone rigorous trials. If you’re afraid of new technologies you can use adenovirus vector vaccines or recombinant protein vaccine, like from Novavax.

That's fine, you don't have to vaccinate. But then businesses and governments are allowed to set it as a requirement to travel, enter a restaurant etc. Restaurants deny access if you have the wrong dress code in fact - you can choose to follow it and enter; or not.
