ironically, no experience more greatly shifted me away from libertarianism than living in san francisco, a city ostensibly obsessed with public services and yet, despite an historic budget, almost no functioning public services. these days i just want things to work.

The problem with politics, at least in the US, is there is usually more incentive to keep problems around than to fix them.

There is too much red tape for common sense solutions to take place. Bureaucracy can be terribly inefficient. Priorities are completely ass backwards
