Got it but I respectfully disagree.
I think it's a legitimate attempt to create belonging among all people of Latin descent in the US, our network is stronger if we are together.

rosa's issue is not with the concept of latin identity, her issue is with the word "latinx," which makes no sense in spanish and seems to imply the entire spanish language is problematic

Imo, LatinX is more inclusive panethnic term than Hispanic/Latino which have racist connotation in some places.
If it makes no sense in Spanish it's irrelevant because it's only being used in the English language within the US.
