Is it just that they fail to predict size of backlash? But still, who gives a shit if your employees are riled up and sign a petition? I'm confused by the internal politics/speedy reversals that lead to situations like this one (and KDW/The Atlantic firing a few years back)
we still don't even know how many employees were angry. who wrote the petition? how many people signed the petition? what does this look like in the context of apple's 150,000 employees? etc.
I thought it was 2,000+ employees, per The Verge's reporting
