favorite new niche genre of twitter is people being mad about "tech bros" in miami on behalf of people from miami who are overwhelmingly welcoming to the tech community

I love the people that are like, "we have to protect these cities from all the California voters moving here" as if the techies are the ones voting the way that made California what it is.

Trying to imagine someone in Miami complaining about "tech bros". Could only be a transplant. Miami might be the most "bro" city in America.

eerily similar to when people criticized the election results in Miami there’s a whole class of people who presume to know what’s better for someone elsehttps://twitter.com/gonzalo__nunez/status/1326990211868360704 …

This whole piece hit very very close to home. “They no more cared for Cuba itself and its people than they did the moon: the country was just a walk-on extra in their political drama where mainstream white elites, either progressive or conservative, were really the main show.” https://twitter.com/antoniogm/status/1326979780978208768 …

It’s people who’ve squandered an almost unfathomably high yield tax base assuming that the money itself is the problem, which is obviously insane to everyone who hasn’t been able to put a fraction of what they’d like in their city budget

They've genuinely treated tech founders like a natural resource that's geographically locked, and they're furious that it isn't the case.

Every single person from Miami I met this past week was very excited about tech people moving there. I think building new housing is going a long way to keep Miami affordable.
