  as scalia, RGB, and many others say separation of powers is why America is great, if the legislature just packs the court with judges who support their agenda, one group would have concentrated power. Thats extremely dangerous to the country (an appropriate use of that here)

  If a politician says Republicans "packed the court" and if no one demands precise word usage, it's easy to say that Democrats can and even must "pack the court" back. In addition, calls for term limits make it more politically acceptable to alter the court when your side "wins".
