had to dig a bit to untangle the story, but this wasn't a failure (other than a failure to burn up sooner). Best I can see, it was a success, but the 2nd stage has never been reusable for any launch system - always burn up out of the public eye. This one did it more loudly.

Actually, the F9 upper stage was supposed to deorbit and crash into the Atlantic/Indian ocean (as all rocket upper stages do). This one failed to deorbit so it's saying F U to Bill Gates and his net worth by crashing over Seattle.
