seems like we could just give d.c. to maryland and call it a day. representation secured. wouldn’t help with the gerrymandering, of course...

Federal districts in every other country are not politically neutral. Not sure why it has to be in DC. (Don’t give me founding fathers crap!)

generally speaking i don't care what other countries do, but i'm not even arguing for tradition here. i'm simply saying d.c. is a city INSIDE a state, not a state itself, and if you want to grant d.c. representation there is a way to do that without transparent gerrymandering.
