Amazon benefits from high min wages, if increased to $25 Amazon would do fine but their small retailer competitors would be squeezed. Long term Amazon is automating everything they can and minimizing their exposure to low skilled labor costs. Not an option for their competitors.

Brick & Mortar retailers are fundamentally more exposed to labor costs than Amazon. An Amazon warehouse worker will process far more products per hour than any retail store worker ever could.

If only the knuckleheads stuck with UBI at least UBI doesn’t nuke the entire labor market and helps provide instant relief instead of making people unemployed

I don't know about the 15 dollar and the implications for the US economy but when the minimum wage got raised in germany the same concerns where voiced and the labor market turned out completely fine. Maybe there are even more incentives to move factories abroad but the small 1/2
