1) i think the board likes to parade children out in front of them in meetings to shield them from criticism because they are cowards. 2) if there is really a racism problem at lowell rooted in lack of exposure to black people, the lottery is not going to fix that.

lowell is 2 percent black. sf is 5 percent black. will 3 percentage points end racism? of course not. the board knows this. doesn't care. it is an ideological war against the notion of merit, which they actually say, and often. so that is what we should be engaging with imo.

1) i think you’re denying the agency of the students here, they’re like 17/18 and can speak for themselves 2) will it Fix Racism? no but all you can do is take steps and lowell’s unusually strong culture of racism relative to other schools in the district is well documented

this is not about racism at lowell. 'racism at lowell' is a meme being used against merit-based education conceptually, which has been targeted by the board for years, and is being targeted by the far left nationally.
