As an owner of multiple guns and a fellow, frustrated, SF resident, not sure I agree. Lots of training required to use a firearm safely in a high stress environment. Without training, odds are high you will hurt yourself or someone you love, or have the gun used against you.
agree gun safety is important, as is defending yourself and your family from what increasingly seems to be legalized home invasion. fwiw i learned how to properly handle a gun when i was 12, in boy scouts.

Same here :) but big difference between shooting targets outside at camp and shooting in the dark, afraid in the house where your family is sleeping. Not saying that it can’t be done, but certainly is not for the average SF resident. Baseball bat is almost as effective
