are we seeing all this health benefits manifest in cultures such as the Muslim where fasting is common place? aka, do they live longer, have less cancer, etc??

I had a muslim friend once and saw first hand how they fast during Ramdan for 30 days. They load up on calories and overeat while breaking the fast. Which I found a common practice in the community. This is more unhealthy. Messes up entire metabolism & heart.

Funny thing is intermittent fasting has been understood in health, medical, and nutritional circles for a while (JHU and Harvard have written positively about it) to have benefits and was pretty uncontroversial until now-because like, someone heard Jack Dorsey does it too?
