I’m not sure it’s supply and demand. It is however Georgian economics, as described by Henry George in Progress and Poverty, especially in a place like SF. Aka “economic rent” which is conveniently left out of the Capital vs Labor dynamic.

I agree with this but all evidence I have seen suggests that even if you do explain supply/demand/price to people they still won’t change their minds.
