I’m not sure it’s supply and demand. It is however Georgian economics, as described by Henry George in Progress and Poverty, especially in a place like SF. Aka “economic rent” which is conveniently left out of the Capital vs Labor dynamic.

I agree with this but all evidence I have seen suggests that even if you do explain supply/demand/price to people they still won’t change their minds.

It's worse than lack of understanding. It's a pretty common view among progressives that supply and demand and the laws of economics in general are libertarian fantasies. That's what allows them to accept the fantasy that is MMT.
