Telling that the resolution cites Lowell’s reputation for being “elite” academically as a problem. Making this one school less elite does nothing to improve the standing of other schools and students in the district.

The reason they won’t touch the school of performing arts is because there’s only one demographic that is over represented there: whites. In the end this will disproportionately improve access for white children at Lowell most given population in SF. Anti Asian, is all it is.

Absolutely infuriating. As a Lowell grad, I am genuinely fucking furious.

Between this, the renaming of the other public highschools, chesa boudin, the corruption of breed, and newsom as Governor - the city and state are going to shit, not bullish on the next 5 years. It’s consistently gotten worse (homelessness, filth, drugs, crime) since we grew up.
