mm i'm not talking about engineering i'm talking about business, which is what balaji elon etc do. like it just seems unproductive to call out a reporter for having opinions and then defend elon for spreading misinformation as if he doesn't have influence and credibility
my point is not that reporters should not have opinions, my point is that if you are committed to expressing the opinion "i do not like you" publicly that is going to impact a reading of your work (and unfortunately probably the reading of other journalists by unfair extension)

yeah that's a valid assessment of many people's take on it i just wish we could recognize that it's not an issue isolated to media. eg elon posts some moronic shit which imo is a valid reason for me to question his leadership & business credibility. but many in tech disagree

like a world where everyone can post their opinions online requires a more careful accounting of what that means in all spheres. taking it too far in one direction is how you get ppl getting arbitrarily cancelled for their opinions, which i assume you are generally against
