I am writing about sociable protocols and I love
@micsolana’s thinking here but not his proposed solutions.
fwiw, i was really just trying to stress the problem — virality, rather than wrong ideas — with these proposals. agree they’re extreme, but hoped that would shock readers into thinking about this in a new way.

Oh I absolutely love the highlighting. What I hope to do in my post is highlight how solutions might emerge from protocols with open state. Email has healthy competition because it is a protocol. Social has no such thing. I think the ground is fertile for something to emerge.

I agree, but I also think folks working on decentralized solutions need to tread carefully. We might wind up with a system will all the same negative externalities, but without an off switch, nor anyone to lobby to reform it.
