just saw a prominent reporter refer to speaking on clubhouse, a free chat app where people can chat, for free, or not!, as “unpaid labor.”
people are saying this is an example of marxism in the newsroom. but while real leftism is certainly ascendent, my sense is this particular comment has less to do with earnest principle than it does the twitter algorithm, which is very clearly rotting all our brains.
