while the chat was exciting, and at times illuminating, we were definitely too accommodating, a mistake i will not make again. and btw i’m not apologizing for failing to navigate 3,000 opinions in the middle of what was, frankly, an overwhelming situation.
still, while i was disheartened by last night’s political cynicism, in some significant sense it was obviously a great success. thousands of people showed up for a peek into our city's russian nesting doll of disasters, and to find a way forward. that's a kind of hope. onward!

Next time please don’t use an invite only app. This whole kerfuffle has mainly shown me that it’s not an acceptable way to conduct public discourse.
Speaking as a true outsider here, without a CH invite... I've heard varying takes on this, that are all over the place. But the optics of this, to someone who wasn't there/isn't on CH (which is most people), is: Chesa won. It might be better to say 'it speaks for itself.'
It speaks volumes of leader that cannot start from place primary accountability.
