From what I can tell, there were at least a handful of people in that crowd that were motivated and willing to capture/execute elected representatives in order to try to stop Trump from having to leave office. I don't know what Trump would have done if they succeeded though.
and those people specifically should be tried, and if convicted of attempted assassination they should be executed. still not a coup.

I think this is a solid take. And I agree that 'coup' leans toward hysterical. But the President can't be extricated from this situation, and neither can Senators Cruz and Hawley. So what did they do? Sedition? Or something else entirely and I'm being taken in by bullshit?

Are you willing to hold that same standard for all prominent libs. and lib. politicians who tweeted encouraging or incendiary things during BLM/Antifa riots...? There are >100x more injuries/deaths and >$8B of gov. and private prop. damages to be spoken for in that regard...
