I agree with the concern 100%, but just because the NASCAR uprising was aborted and disorganized doesn't mean it wasn't dangerous or a coup attempt.

From what I can tell, there were at least a handful of people in that crowd that were motivated and willing to capture/execute elected representatives in order to try to stop Trump from having to leave office. I don't know what Trump would have done if they succeeded though.

So, there wasn't any real support for it, and it had no chance of succeeding, but I think it's disingenuous to say that there was no attempted overthrow. I mean, this has to be as close as we've gotten to that on a federal level, right?

It was an attempted coup behind the scenes (White House & DoD). There are folks on the record about this coordination. What we all saw at the Capitol was insurrection & a putsch. The more information that comes out about it, the worse it is, e.g., minutes away from hostage sit.
