Out of curiosity, how do you disagree with @mmasnick and @benthompson? I think they made a sensible point for why this is different and requires an extraordinary action like deplatforming.

love ben, strongly disagree with him. trump’s deplatforming didn’t happen in a vacuum. we are in the middle of a sweeping, overtly-partisan political purge, and — worse — alignment between the few most powerful businessmen of all time and the state. bigger things happening here.
