i never saw it that way but it's a good point. i wonder if there is a non-coercive method to incentivize similar results. the status quo seems busted because we know for sure now people can't recognize propaganda aligned with their own team.

If news channels are left to pursue profit maximization then they obviously find an audience and pander to it. Pretty hard to stop that now that the floodgates are open. Restricting news channels to objectivity and facts sounds like a decent idea
