presumably we would have a better sense of what was going on here if china hadn't kicked our press, including the times, out of the country... to glowing reviews of the ccp from the styles section

That's always the story of how "happy" people in communist countries are yet for some reason they never have the ability to vote with their feet and leave (my parents were Cuban refugees). Thankfully we're still free here in the US to vote with our feet!
