Can you say more? How long would have been right/fair here? And what confidence do you have that after that period this sort of thing would have been less rather than more likely to happen? Criminal justice is not easy!

i have no dog in this fight, so not trying to dunk here, and i can see where you're coming from on this - there's a long history of punitive crim justice that just punishes ppl for being poor etc && fixing that isn't easy but this does not seem like that case
