It's a word world where kids who's parents express the most "correct" political views win favour over kids who are smart and work hard. I mean that's kind of the exact opposite of the sort of achievement normal people support.

It's important to remember how *tiny* the support for such bizarre points of view. The problem is that such people happen to have enormous power while yelling that everyone else has the power.

Agree. We don’t have to knock down gifted students to lift up struggling students. Gifted does not equal rich or white. Gifted programs can lift underprivileged. Putting gifted and struggling in the same classroom hurts them both
