I agree with this. I'm not disputing SF's gov't has shot itself in the foot. I just don't understand how the ongoing dialogue on Twitter solves the problem? Dig in at the grassroots and help elect people who are progressive socially and informed economically.
i am involved. i also write about local politics and its impact almost every week. but correcting asinine, hateful viral tweets — amplified by a guffawing, clueless tech press — is unfortunately something that needs to be done.
I think we're on the same page here - I guess I think the method of the message is the key in my eyes. Ultimately, I think the tech press (outside of specific industries) has way less clout than is attributed to it.
