Its of course both and thats not "absolutely insane" to point out. You frame it as "government bad" they frame it as "tech bad" but to them tech leaving will solve the problem. Just noting that you say "our problems" you're not really talking about all SF residents.
it doesn't matter how the board frames it. THEY ARE IN CHARGE, not tech. if they wanted to legalize new housing, thus lowering the cost of living in accordance with the laws of supply and demand, they could do that. unclear how that wouldn't help all sf residents but go off.
Not the board lol, the SF residents who willingly vote for them every year, they clearly do not see they're problems as caused by the decade long regime. They would rather fix rents by having tech people leave than build housing. Seems pretty dumb to me, but it would work.
