let's start with naming the negative externalities and explaining how they aren't all actual, literal policy decisions made by the local government
I am not defending the local governments, policy decisions, or voter base -- lots of blame for bay area issues can be attributed to that. Just asking you think an industry is at least partly responsible for negative externalities?
You can't honestly be ignorant of regulatory capture? The idea that local gov makes decisions in a vacuum—totally unaffected by tech—is absurd and hilarious.
