We both know the science has been slow there. Infuriatingly. We both also know sf daily cases went from 30 to 300 in less than a month. Asking for non-existing science to support every decision is as stupid as the anti-mask morons. With minimal science we are left with logic

It's not stupid, but it's also not great public policy to wait for certainty before acting. We have to make best guesses based on what we know, and not rely on empirical verification of every subcase.
It is stupid to ask for science that you know doesn’t exist. Or it’s malicious. My sense is you are far from stupid.
I hope you realize that by using dismissive words such as stupid when someone is asking earnest questions, you are weakening your point and credibility. Just admit that you don't know if science is/will support this and the govt *may* have gone too far in limiting outdour dining.
We also both know the decisions have to be made. Would you rather they do nothing in the face of 10x growth in 30 days? If so lots of states where you can get that. I personally think that would also be stupid.
Never mind the fact that we could and potentially do have the “science”. Many states had implemented contact tracing protocols requiring restaurants to take contact info for tracing. Why haven’t we seen any of that data?!?
