there is not a "new" silicon valley, and there is never going to be a "new" silicon valley. the world is fundamentally different than it was ten years ago. if your next move doesn't feel weird, it's wrong.

If I were the king of Silicon Valley, I’d remember that it only takes one or two high profile departures to turn 2020 Mountain View, Calif. into beginning-of-the-end 1956 Murray Hill NJ.

Yes, companies like Bell Labs and RCA left New Jersey in the latter half of the 1900s. But that innovative spirit remained. NJ is home to thriving Pharmaceutical innovation with amazing companies like J&J and Merck! CA will survive as well.
