Is there a principled anti-free-speech position that's not authoritarian? Does one even exist?

Acknowledging boundaries and limits on free speech is a defensible position.

I don’t want to censor speech, just *bad* speech. Geez.

This guy literally just did a book report (on a mediocre book) on national television.

Mike, I agree with your tweet, but didn't hear that quote within this clip. I thought the guy speaking did a good job discussing the nuanced challenge of 'fake news' vs. free speech - and he left it open-ended as to the solution.

You can say whatever you want as long as my friends agree with you. I feel like I have heard about this type of society in some history books.

All journalists are complete clowns. We would be better served eradicating their profession and force them to go get jobs that provide some kind of value. Wouldn’t it be epic watching them attempt to be entrepreneurs? We could have them pledge their homes and assets like we do.

Yes. Name it, know it. We need the build up the ability to escape the gravitational pull of mistake theory. Encouraging to see this kind of clarity.

This is Orwellian

No it's not. The sentiment he expressed in the clip is perfectly defensible.
