i'd be curious to know what your thesis is on why much of tech stays here now. if it's because of bigco, VC or startup lock-in. Or if this migration narrative is
think it's just networks and money. despite significant losses, a disproportionate concentration of talent is still here, as is most of the venture. and most of our friends! if venture is forced out (possible given rhetoric) i think the tech industry here actually has to end.

for all of the "here's the next silicon valley" articles over the years, i have yet to really find it in the same way it exists here — maybe that actually happens in austin....(though i think urban density a factor too)

i also don't think there will ever be another silicon valley, nor do most people moving. distributed industry seems to be the meme. in practice, we'll see. all of this, in every dimension, just feels like the management of disaster tbh.
