no, it’s wild. i’ve written a little bit about this before. i can think of no other example.
NYC often comes close to doing this with its financial sector, but cooler heads usually prevail (not sure if this'll hold moving forward). Of course it has done this with its other industry: real estate which is almost entirely driven out now
