the only thing i've really learned from twitter stories this week ("fleets") is why so many of you are influencers on this platform rather than instagram

To be fair I haven’t seen a single person say anything good about fleets and in fact they’re so weak (which is worse than bad) entire threads popped up of people saying...forget all this, bring back MySpace. Fleets are a thing
@twitter is trying to sell users on.
fleets will work, they just won't work for people who are already popular on twitter

Fleets won’t work for the same reason static friction and rolling friction are different values entirely. There’s a culture here that sees fleets as dumb. Just because the UX is thirsty doesn’t mean anyone wants it.

I expect they’ll make some other site. Fleeter or something. Big reset, seeded with content from poached influencers. That might work.
