Demolition Man is also one of the most prescient films on the future of technology ever made: iPads, level 4 self-driving, VR. It surprisingly gets a lot of things right, despite not being traditional high-brow sci-fi. Great movie!

COVID accelerated the trend of Demolition Man becoming the most prescient dystopian sci-fi flick. Hope y’all like Taco Bell and peak neo-liberalism. Catch me in the sewers.

If it were just a matter of restoring SF somehow, I might agree with the thesis that maybe SF is the place to mount the turnaround. But the problem is it's a double whammy, it's SF *and* California, and California seems too big to turn around without many years of pain.

California shows no intention to correct its probs. They are running an old playbook and heading the ship straight into the iceberg. Now that they have their woman in the White House they can guarantee the bailouts That will perpetuate it for another decade.NJ with good veggies
