Wouldn't abolishing federal student loans just increase interest rates for people, potentially pricing out students? Or am I missing something
my thinking here is abolishing federal loans in a world with bankruptcy back on the table would keep most banks from lending at current prices, which would force colleges to slash tuition. unclear about interest rates. open to 4) imposing caps tbh.
Or it could just force colleges and lenders to be more selective, thus pricing out people who can’t afford the education.
There cash be some middle ground here though - keep the existing grant structure while getting the fed gov out of the loan business.
