reading about the 60s and wondering why our anti-war protests are so embarrassing by comparison, it strikes me: there were never anti-war protests, there were anti-draft protests

I'm not sure if this is true. Why would women get involved in these protests if the reason you believe is the draft? I think it was a transitional time. Music, drugs, new age religions all played a part in the anti-war sentiment, imo.
if there were currently a draft for women only, and you little sister, your girlfriend, your daughter were being sent to war, would you not have very strong opinions about it?

If that were the case then shouldn't there have been same protests for WWII?Vietnam war was seen as unjust and people were in a different state of mind thanks to the counter cultural movement taking shape.
