best part of last night is the denouncing of radicals on both sides trump losing relative to the rest of the GOP denounces the far-right biden losing latinos denounces the socialist far-left hopefully both parties move towards the center after this
if the radical left were really being denounced wouldn't even one of the radical leftists have lost their race? i'm still not sure what to take away from trump's uptick in support among latinos tbh.

Trump doing better with Latinos has little to do with Trump I think and a lot more to do with a ~10 year Republican investment *juuuust* starting to bear fruit

It's possible Obama's thawing of relations with Cuba soured the opinion of the Democratic Party within the Cuban American constituency, and it's possible that also alienated Venezuelans as well. Might be as simple as that.

Most likely even simpler. The Biden campaign explicitly did not attempt to coral the latino vote, polling showed he was much worse that Clinton and didn't really care, ideological explanations take away from the fact that Parscale ran an amazing minority outreach campaign.

I believe part of it is due to a perceived patriotism gap. Latinos and Blacks, believe it or not, are some of the most patriotic people you’ll find. Waving the flag proud shouldn’t be something that seems like a GOP thing. We want a better America but we *love* America.

Not sure either but some possibilities: a) tendency towards system justification b) might get me canceled but factors like favorable views towards authority, distaste for ambiguity, diffs in threat perception which are manifestations of underlying ideology informed by culture

there’s also the possibility of rebellion against Dems with woke savior complex and the cultural prescriptions (i.e. Latinx) they’ve been writing. But not sure how much explanatory power can be ascribed to that
