It’s an unbalancing of the political balance of power, not of the government’s. It’s just a different dick move in a long string of dick moves by everyone. The SCOTUS didn’t stop functioning at 9 and it won’t stop at 11, 13, or 31.
it’s not a “dick move,” it fundamentally undermines — structurally — the judicial branch of our government. again, horrifying abuse of power. this is not a small thing for me. this is someone burning down my church.

I think it seems that way until you realize the number of justices and their composition is not the structure. It’s the political makeup.

If you found a way to do it legally, you could fire every judge and appoint new ones every four years, and we’d still have a three branch democracy.
