A bit dramatic. The idea is adding justices, not removing the branch. The justices still have to hear cases and make rulings. I seem to recall “it’s legal, and we have the votes,” being a good enough argument yesterday for something else.
yes, the argument employed yesterday is what we heard, from democrats, on behalf of garland. packing the court is not that. it’s a horrifying abuse of power, i’ll vote against anyone who even so much as tweets in favor of it, and that’s forever.

It’s an unbalancing of the political balance of power, not of the government’s. It’s just a different dick move in a long string of dick moves by everyone. The SCOTUS didn’t stop functioning at 9 and it won’t stop at 11, 13, or 31.

it’s not a “dick move,” it fundamentally undermines — structurally — the judicial branch of our government. again, horrifying abuse of power. this is not a small thing for me. this is someone burning down my church.
