I would say I’m looking forward to all the “platforms need to censor themselves” people complaining every time they don’t agree with each particular act of self-censorship, but I’m not looking forward to it at all. It’s going to be super tedious and exhausting.

Downranking, on a private platform, is not censorship. Speech/reach. I can find the NYPost article just fine. I’m w you on a lot, Mike. Not here.

It is censorship, but it’s not government censorship. The Constitution protects your right to censor content in your publication, that is your speech, but protects you from the government censoring you.

Cox and Wyden wrote this bipartisan passage in 1996 in part to encourage market-based standards for user content so if you do not like the policies of a particular private corporation, you are free to go to another one, unless you’re saying you have no choice.

It should also be noted, 230 exists *specifically* to allow these publishers to censor speech without liability. They were worried that if companies didn’t have this ability, Prodigy & AOL would be awash in porn.
