This makes me wonder what or if there is an optimal rate of change to the definition of words within a language. Intuitively too high a rate of change and a language becomes non functional but I have no idea how valid that intuition is

Fortunately dictionary/thesaurus still exist in print. I have an old one I still consult. Far more useful and best links/associations. Imo we should encourage their usage and not fear its any kind of Luddite behavior; it’s just a check against unbridled, fickle mob rule.
