was just thinking about how the gripping, flawlessly acted ‘arrival’ was easily the best movie about the complexities of extraterrestrial contact ever made and you assholes gave them the oscar for sound editing and called it a day

Pretty ordinary marks for an otherwise great movie for denying the aliens agency, though. Why would aliens not understand how and where to make contact in central locations? Montana is prettier than Washington DC but not exactly a hub, is it.
